These terms are an agreement between you and Ashternext, run by Maalik Bagwala in India (“we”, “us”). They cover the Cashout app and this website. By using Cashout, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we collect and why.
In short
- Cashout is free. You need to be 18 or older and sign in with Google.
- What you add is yours. We store it so the app works for you and the people you share groups with.
- Cashout keeps records. It doesn’t move money, and it isn’t financial, tax or legal advice.
- AI can get things wrong. Check what it fills in before you rely on it.
- AI credits have no cash value. Free credits lapse at the end of each month.
- You can stop using Cashout and delete your account at any time.
1. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to use Cashout.
- You sign in with your Google account. Keep it and your phone secure, because anyone who can open Cashout on your phone can see and change your data.
- An account is for one person. Don’t sign in as someone else or share your account.
- You’re responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has used it, email us.
2. What Cashout is, and isn’t
Cashout helps you keep a record of what you spend, what you share with others and what you plan to spend. It isn’t a bank, a payment service or a financial adviser.
- Cashout never moves money. A settle-up is a note that a payment happened outside the app. It isn’t the payment.
- Totals, balances, budgets and answers come from what you and your group members entered. If an entry is wrong, so is the number.
- Nothing in Cashout is financial, tax or legal advice. Check the numbers that matter before you act on them.
3. Your content
- What you add to Cashout, such as expenses, notes, receipt photos and chats, stays yours.
- You let us store, copy, process and show it, only as needed to run Cashout for you: to sync it to your phones, show it to members of groups you add it to, and send it to our service providers as our privacy policy describes.
- Only add things you have the right to add. Don’t upload other people’s personal documents without their permission.
4. Shared groups
- Anyone you invite to a group, and who joins, can see the group’s expenses, balances and settle-ups, plus your name, email address and photo.
- Only invite people you know, and don’t use invitations or reminders to bother anyone.
- The person who created a group can edit or delete it. You can leave a group once you’re settled up in it.
- What members owe each other is between them. We don’t collect debts or settle disagreements about who paid what.
5. Cashout AI
- Receipt scanning, the chat and voice notes use Cashout AI, which runs on Google’s Gemini. They’re optional.
- AI makes mistakes. It can misread a receipt, pick the wrong category or misunderstand a question. Check what it adds before you rely on it, and fix anything that’s wrong.
- If a reply is wrong, harmful or offensive, use Report under it. We read reports to make Cashout better.
- Don’t use Cashout AI for anything other than managing your money in Cashout, and don’t try to make it produce harmful content.
6. AI credits
Each AI request costs credits, depending on how much work it takes. The app shows your balance and what’s left.
- Free credits: you get 300 free credits at the start of each month. They lapse at the end of the month and don’t carry over. To keep things fair, there’s also a limit on how many free credits you can use in a few hours.
- Gifted credits: credits we give you lapse 12 months after we add them.
- Bought credits: if we offer credits for sale, they’ll be sold through Google Play, and Google Play’s payment and refund terms apply. They lapse 12 months after you buy them.
- Credits that lapse soonest are used first.
- We work out what a request costs once it’s done. If it costs more than your balance, the difference comes out of your next credits.
- Credits have no cash value. You can’t sell them, transfer them or swap them for money, except where the law says otherwise.
- We may change how many free credits you get or what features cost. We’ll tell you in the app before a change takes effect. Credits you already have keep their lapse dates.
- If you delete your account, your credits are deleted too.
7. Using Cashout fairly
Don’t:
- use Cashout for anything illegal, or to harass, threaten or deceive anyone;
- try to get into accounts, data or systems that aren’t yours, or test Cashout’s security without our written permission;
- copy, change, decompile or resell the app, except where the law allows;
- use scripts or bots to access Cashout, or overload or interfere with our servers, including the AI server;
- get around limits such as AI credits.
8. Changes and availability
- We keep improving Cashout, so features may change, be added or be removed.
- We try to keep Cashout running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. Cashout keeps a copy of your data on your phone, so you can keep adding expenses offline.
- If we ever close Cashout, we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before.
9. Ending your use
- You can stop using Cashout at any time. To erase your data, delete your account.
- We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or when the law requires us to. Unless the law stops us, we’ll tell you why and, where it makes sense, give you a chance to put things right first.
- When an account is closed, we delete its data as described on the delete account page.
10. Our responsibility to you
- Cashout is provided “as is”. As far as the law allows, we don’t make promises about it beyond those in these terms.
- We aren’t responsible for losses caused by wrong entries, AI mistakes you didn’t correct, decisions you made from Cashout’s numbers, or disagreements between group members.
- We aren’t responsible for indirect losses, such as lost profits or lost opportunities.
- If we are responsible for a loss, the most we’ll owe you is the larger of what you paid us in the 12 months before it, or ₹1,000.
- None of this limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited, or our responsibility for fraud, or for harm caused by our negligence.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India. If something goes wrong, please email us first, and we’ll try to sort it out. If we can’t, the courts of India will decide.
12. Changes to these terms
We’ll update these terms when Cashout changes. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change matters to you, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using Cashout after that, the new terms apply.
13. Contact us
