Delete your account in the app
- Open Cashout and sign in.
- On Home, tap your photo or initial at the top to open Profile.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read what will be deleted, then confirm.
If you’re a member of a group that someone else owns, you need to be settled up in that group first. Cashout tells you if you aren’t.
Your account is deleted straight away and you’re signed out. This can’t be undone. If you sign in again later with the same Google account, you start a new, empty account.
Or ask us by email
If you can’t use the app, for example because you no longer have your phone, you can ask us to delete your account.
- Email malik@ashternext.com from the Google email address you use to sign in to Cashout.
- Use the subject “Delete my Cashout account”.
- We’ll confirm that we got your request.
- We’ll delete your account within 30 days and email you when it’s done.
- If you write from a different address, we’ll need to check that the account is yours first.
- If you still have an unsettled balance in a group someone else owns, we’ll let you know first, because the other members’ balances depend on it.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in: the link between Cashout and your Google account.
- Your profile: your name, email address and profile photo.
- Your expenses, with their notes, receipts and receipt photos.
- Your categories, budgets, recurring bills, reminders and notifications.
- Your income entries, income categories and repeating income.
- Your Cashout AI chats, your AI credits and the records of your AI requests, and any reports you made about AI replies.
- Your push notification tokens, and our copies of notifications sent to you or to others about your expenses, settle-ups, invitations and reminders.
- Groups you own. Each other member keeps their own expenses from the group as personal expenses, for their share.
- Anything you deleted earlier in the app, which until now was kept out of sight on our servers.
- The offline copy of your data on the phone you deleted from. If Cashout is on another phone, sign out there or uninstall it to remove that copy.
What is kept, and for how long
In groups that other people own
Other members’ records stay, so their history and balances stay correct:
- Expenses other members added stay with them. If you paid for one of those, the member who added it keeps their own share of it as a personal expense.
- Your share is removed from other members’ expenses.
- Expenses you added where another member paid pass to that member, so nobody’s balance changes.
Elsewhere
- Backups: our hosting provider keeps backups for a limited period of up to 30 days. After that, your deleted data is gone from them too.
- Data sent to Google Gemini for AI features may be kept by Google for a limited time, to detect abuse and meet legal requirements. Google doesn’t use it to train its models.
- Sign-in and security records kept by our hosting provider are deleted after a limited period.
- Notifications already delivered to other members’ phones stay on those phones.
- Your email to us: if you asked us by email, we keep that email thread as a record of your request.
Your Google account isn’t affected. To also remove Cashout from your Google account’s list of connected apps, go to your Google Account, open Security, then Your connections to third-party apps & services.
Delete some data and keep your account
- You can delete expenses, income entries and AI chats in the app. They disappear from the app at once, and are erased for good when you delete your account.
- Removing a budget, or removing or replacing your profile photo, erases it straight away.
- To have specific data erased for good now, email malik@ashternext.com from your Google sign-in address and tell us what to erase. We’ll do it within 30 days.
